MILTON, N.Y., July 12, 2018 – Sono-Tek Corporation (OTCQX: SOTK) the leading developer and manufacturer of ultrasonic coating systems, announced with great sorrow that Edward J. Handler III, Board Director, passed away unexpectedly on July 5, 2018.
“We are deeply saddened by the passing of our friend and colleague,” commented Dr. Christopher L. Coccio, Chairman and CEO. “Ed has been associated with Sono-Tek for over 40 years beginning with his participation in the filing of the original ultrasonic nozzle patents with our founder Harvey Berger in the 1970s. He continued to assist us with the management of our intellectual property until when he joined our Board in 2004. He has been a valuable member of our team as well as a friend to all of us here. On behalf of the Board members and entire Sono-Tek organization, I would like to convey our sincerest and heartfelt condolences to Ed’s family.”
Mr. Handler was a former partner at Kenyon & Kenyon, where he served over time on all of the law firm’s major governing and operating committees. Mr. Handler was named among the World’s Leading Patent Lawyers in 2003 and the World’s Leading Trademark Lawyers in 2004, having taken a lead role on numerous significant technology and pharmaceutical intellectual property cases over many years.
Mr. Handler, who was a 1960 graduate of the United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point, NY, also served as an elected member of the Board of Directors of The Association of Graduates (USMA) and has been president of The West Point Society of New York, as well as a member of the Board of Governors at The Union League Club of New York.
