Sono-Tek Corporation, a NY-based company specializing in ultrasonic coating systems for the medical industry, announces they will be exhibiting at MD&M West in Anaheim, CA, February 8-10. Visitors will be able to see Sono-Tek’s precision radial spray nozzle, designed to coat blood collection tube walls or other cylindrical substrates with targeted micron-thick coatings, without any collection of sprayed material on the base of the tubes.
Also on display will be Sono-Tek’s FlexiCoat MD, a programmable XYZ standalone inline coating system. The FlexiCoat MD is a versatile, precise coating machine suitable for a wide variety of medical device coating applications. The system features a 500 x 500 x 100 mm range of motion, with a number of customizable options such as Z axiz rotation, camera, laser pointer, heat and/or vacuum plate, dual nozzle configuration, and several liquid delivery options, including a continuous syringe pump.
Some of the coating applications ideally suited for the FlexiCoat MD system are coatings onto sutures, wellplates, blood collection tubes, orthopedic implants, bandages and other small implantable medical devices.
The FlexiCoat MD can incorporate any style ultrasonic nozzle to produce spray patterns ranging from 1.8 mm to 150 mm across. All of Sono-Tek’s ultrasonic nozzles feature controllable, uniform drop sizes enabling customization of coating morphology, up to 80% reduction in coating material, and non-clogging, repeatable performance. The superior uniformity of ultrasonic coatings improves drug delivery and patient safety for implantable devices with functional coatings. Our coating expertise and experience have helped hundreds of companies worldwide improve their coating processes.
