Sono-Tek Corporation (OTC QB: SOTK) is pleased to announce the sale of a precision ultrasonic coating system to Advanced Animal Diagnostics of Durham, N.C. The unit will used for the application of animal diagnostic device manufacturing.
According to R. Stephen Harshbarger, Sono-Tek’s president, Sono-Tek has sold equipment for human diagnostic device manufacturing for several years, but this is the company’s first entrance into diagnostic devices for animals. “Advanced Animal Diagnostics brings point-of-care testing to the farm, taking a ‘point-of-cow’ approach,” he says. “Its on-farm diagnostic products provide early, accurate and rapid detection of diseases, helping livestock producers make proactive management decisions that improve animal health and increase profitability.”
Advanced Animal Diagnostics’ Vice President of Engineering and Manufacturing, David Calderwood says the company chose Sono-Tek ultrasonic coating machinery because of the equipment’s high precision and repeatability. “Our flagship, portable automated reader, QScout® Farm Lab, makes accurate diagnostic results available on the farm in minutes, so our diagnostic devices need to be manufactured with both accuracy and cost-effectiveness in mind,” he says. “Sono-Tek was able to meet our coating needs, while assisting us in proving the application in the Sono-Tek lab.”
Sono-Tek ultrasonic spray systems are proven in a wide range of precision spray applications worldwide; including implantable medical device coatings such as stents, printed circuit board spray fluxing, solar and fuel cell manufacturing, nano-layers deposited onto glass, food and other industrial coatings applied to any width production lines. Sono-Tek’s environmentally friendly ultrasonic spray systems feature up to an 80 percent reduction in spray material and dramatic reductions in waste and energy consumption.
Advanced Animal Diagnostics provides livestock producers with diagnostic products that improve profitability and enable enhanced precise care of animals, so they live healthier, more productive lives. The company develops and commercializes on-farm diagnostic tests, such as QScout® MLD test for early detection of subclinical mastitis in dairy cows.
